Course Status Guide Autumn/Winter 2024-25

The Greens Committee have simplified the way course status updates are shared with GC members. From 1st November 2024 to 30th April 2025 each morning’s Club V1 app notification and website course status will state only Course Status 1 through to Course Status 6. It is very important all GC members take the time time read what each level of Course Status means. Please see the descriptions below as your point of reference. A link to these descriptions will be included along with each mornings Club V1 update:

You will notice there are two consistent recommendations. One is to please use a carry bag/and or paths where possible. This will help keep the fairways and walk on/off areas in better condition. Second is the Greens Committee’s recommendation to use striking mats during play. The Greens Committee is happy to recommend this as we believe it will not only help to protect the course, it will also help you enjoy your game more as you will be able to play from as consistent playing surface, just as you would be seeking as you lift, clean and place during the period of ‘winter rules’.

15 hole route for buggies/personal ride on vehicles

As noted on previous course updates from 1st November in addition to the safe route following paths and 90 degree rule on the front 9 we aim to make holes 10,11,12,13, 17 & 18 available also. For us to have confidence that this route is safe we must emphasise the importance of keeping buggies/ride on vehicles on the defined route at all times. We appreciates that this may mean some walking to and from your golf ball between shots but as the course risk assessment states the topography of the course is such that remaining on the route is necessary for safely making your way around the course. The route planner can be downloaded HERE

Route planner and 90 degree rule

The 90 degree rule means all buggies and personal ride on vehicles must remain on the route planner at all times. As the pictures below illustrate the process should be:

1. Play from the tee with buggy/personal ride on parked on route.
2. Follow route to a point adjacent, or at 90 degrees, to the position of your ball. Then, select your club, leave the buggy/personal ride on vehicle parked on the route and walk across to play your shot
3. Play your shot from adjacent to where your buggy/ride on vehicle is parked on the route
4. Return to the buggy/ride on vehicle, continue following the route and your progress around the course this way
