Club Captain’s Welcome

It is with great honour and enthusiasm that I extend my warmest greetings to each and everyone of you as your newly appointed club Captain.

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to the out going Captain Richard Mason for his dedication and hard work in leading our club to the position it is in today, he has left it in a far better place than at the start of his year.

Along with the other section captains their commitment has laid a solid foundation, which we can build upon, I deeply appreciate their efforts.

The club charity this year is SPDC Sandwell parents for disabled parents, their aim is to introduce disabled youngster’s and their families into sport, as far as they are concerned the sky’s the limit and there’s nothing they won’t consider, even golf.

To this end I’m committed to promoting inclusivity and diversity within our club.

Golf is a game for everyone, regardless of age, gender, background, or skill level.

By embracing diversity and creating an environment where all feel welcome and valued, we enrich the fabric of our community and ensure longevity of our beloved club and sport.

One of my primary objectives as your captain is to uphold the traditions of the club, with its friendly atmosphere and community, whether you’re a seasoned veteran or newcomer to the fairways, I urge you to engage with your fellow members, support the club functions, use the facilities and forge friendships that will endure both on and off the course.

In the spirt of continuous improvement, I welcome your feedback and suggestions on how we can enhance the member experience at Hagley golf club. Your input is invaluable to promote innovation and progress, to ensure that every member feels valued, supported, and inspired to pursue their passion for the game of golf.

Despite recent damp conditions affecting our course I’m very optimistic regarding the coming year, with lord Cobham’s support and continued backing, ensuring new equipment for the green staff the course will again become the envy of the area and the place to play golf.

In closing, I’m honoured to serve as captain and look forward to the privilege of getting to know each and every one of you, better in the coming months.

Together let’s make Hagley the place to be and this year ahead one to remember, to all members have a great golfing year, but most of all enjoy it .
