Course Update
A brief update today as we have had an unexpected opportunity to progress important work sooner than originally planned. Many of you will have noticed the subsidence at the front of the hazard on the 2nd hole. Caused by water pressure and erosion the remedial work on this was scheduled for later in the year but fortunately the contractors have been able to move this forward and work will begin this Monday (3rd March). The contractors will be using heavy plant machinery so please take extra care when walking around the area. It will be necessary to take the 2nd hole out of play and/or make it a par 3 for times next week whilst the work is going on. Please note the updates on Club V1 and signage that will direct you safely between the 1st and 2nd holes.

As we have the contractors on site we have also agreed to invest in tidying up the water hazard on the 9th hole. The scope of work in this phase will be to excavate the area and try to get the hazard’s depth to an even level. Some trees in the area will be removed, surrounds will then be made good and over seeded. The expectation is that this work will make the hazard much tidier and also make further development easier to carry out in time. Just as with the 2nd hole contractors will be using heavy plant machinery so please take extra care when walking around the area. It will be necessary to take the 9th hole out of play and/or make it a par 3 whilst the work is going on. Please note the updates on Club V1 and signage that will direct you safely between the 9th and 10th holes.
Please also be aware that the far end of the car park toward the 1st tee will have machinery parked in it so take extra care in this are too.
Finally, with the weather forecast looking very positive for the weekend and ground conditions slowly improving the Greens Committee have decided to take the measure of temporarily positioning tees on the 2nd and 4th so they will play as par 3s for the next few days. This ensures that all 18 holes will be open for the weekend and the Captain’s Drive-In competition will be played on Sunday morning. Please note the updates on club V1 and signage directing you to the temporary tees.

An update on the work around 2nd/9th will be sent next week. The update will also described planned tree reduction/removals on the 15th and course maintenance work carried out.
Enjoy the sunshine this weekend.
