Course Update
Course maintenance has continued in the mixed weather including more heavy rain, frosts and the occasional very welcome dry day. As the green keeping team adapt to these conditions they are using hand mowers on the greens to ensure they are in the best possible condition throughout the winter months. The hand mowers can now be transported across the course using the paths by trailer across the majority of the 18 holes.

This will hopefully make regular use of the hand mowers possible on both greens and tees in the coming months. As ever you can play your part in keeping these parts of the course well maintained by repairing pitch marks and playing from the winter mats, Thank you.
An indication of the recent rain fall was the green keeping team pumping the well on the 1st hole clear of the water that had filled it’s 11 meter depth in recent months. As you can see from the pictures the well is now clear and will continue to act as a gauge for water table levels across the course. So far the course has been very resilient to the rain fall. Depending upon the timing of the rain it may be necessary to keep the course closed for inspection at times. We will always try to re-inspect at least once a day to try and give you an opportunity to play if an earlier decision to close has been necessary.

Finally, the green keeping team have continued to lay astro on the paths between 13th and 14th holes. This process will take some time as the astro is very heavy and needs to be moved very carefully.
