Course update

Following storm Goretti we have had approximately 100mm of rain and there is more forecast into the weekend. The course has been very resilient and the greens have remained in excellent condition. Having all 18 winter tee mats in place and with many of you also using the fairway mats play has been possible through much of the wet spell. However, the relentless levels of rain now means that some sections of fairways are becoming unplayable at times.
Our highest priority is to keep the course open for play as often as possible. Last year some of you will recall we successfully trialled placing winter tee mats in forward positions on a few holes across the front 9. This meant play on the wettest fairways was reduced, tees could be easily/safely reached adjacent to paths, and most importantly as the greens were playable the course remained open.
With the forecast set for more rain into the weekend there is a strong possibility that the course will be set up this way again to get us through this spell of weather. This means that as long as the greens are playable the front 9 will definitely be open at least.
The daily course status update will clearly describe which tees have been moved forward. The course status updates will be posted each morning and as conditions need more frequent inspection after rain fall we hope to have a decision posted by 9.00.
The forecast is for conditions to turn colder next week. We hope this also leads to less rain. Whenever conditions allow play from the main winter tee mats will be available. As ever this will be described on the daily course status update.
We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation as we adapt to ensure everyone can continue to play as much golf as possible through.the rest of this winter
