Course Update

It is fair to say our hopes for colder drier conditions have not been met this week. Storm Chandra delivered over 20 mm of rain in 24 hrs and we have had consistent rain either side of that too. We have now had well over 120 mm in January 2026, more than double 2025. The gallery below illustrates just how severe the weather has been in the last month. Following the snow and rain we have seen water levels reach higher than ever in some areas of the course.

As noted in the previous course update the greenkeepers are doing all they can to keep the course playable. This has meant implementing the short course on the front 9 and/or using some temporary greens on the back 9. With the forecast offering little prospect of dry conditions these mitigations are going to be necessary for the next week or so. Again we thank you for your patience and cooperation with these.

Course updates will be posted as soon as possible each morning with 9.00 being the latest time that status for the whole day will hopefully be determined.

In the meantime the greenkeepers have been busy with maintenance and development work. The gallery below shows:

  1. Work continuing on the 10th yellow tee steps
  2. Path maintenance
  3. Tree cleaning across large areas. This will help playability, aeration, and access for mowing machinery

We will send another update in the next week or so, hopefully with better news from the weather forecast.
