Course Update

A brief but important update this week.

4th and 8th hole clearance work

Work on the 4th and 8th holes as part of the drainage project will begin next Tuesday (4th May) morning. The work is expected to continue into Thursday (7th May). There will be machinery and tree surgeons on site so for safety reasons the 4th and 8th tees will be moved well forward and play as par 3’s for these few days. This will make the course non qualifying too. Signage and barriers will be around the working areas and it will be very much appreciated if these guides are followed to enable safe and timely completion of the project.

We will share more details of the progress being made during the week.

Par 3 tees

As the course will non-qualifying for a few days next week it has been decided to take the opportunity to give the par 3 tees a chance to recover from the early season spell of play. This means that the grass tees will be closed for the period, the tees will be moved to the winter mats. The greenkeepers can then top dress, water and maybe over seed the areas.  Hopefully this has the the intended affect and the grass recovers ready for the tees to play well again from the weekend onwards. Sand and seed boxes will soon be placed on many tees as the warmer temperatures provide better growing conditions.
