Course Update
Please find an update regarding the planned course maintenance scheduled from Monday, August 17th to Friday, August 21st.
Course Status & Layout Changes
– Non-Qualifying Status: The course will be non-qualifying during this week.
– 4th Hole: Due to tree clearance on the left-hand side of the fairway, the 4th hole will be played from forward tees. This work is part of our long-term drainage and aesthetics program, conducted by the same contractors who completed the right-hand side.
– Par 3 Tees: Remedial work will be carried out on the par 3 tees, meaning they will be moved forward to the winter mats for the week.
Greens Maintenance (August 17th – 21st)
This work will be completed entirely by our own staff using specialised hired machinery:
– Scarification: Utilizing the Marrido flex verticutter attached to our tractor, with organic materials cleared using the Ventrac blower.
– Aeration & Top Dressing: Solid tining will be used to oxygenate the surfaces, followed immediately by a top dressing of fine sand.

Overseeding (Week Beginning August 24th)
We have hired a Redexim dimple seeder to overseed the putting surfaces and tees. This machine is minimally intrusive and will help accelerate the recovery time of the greens.

General Updates
– Path Work: The installation of paths on the 11th and 12th holes is progressing well and is ahead of schedule.
– Machinery: The new greens mower is performing excellently. Additionally, the old greens mower has been adapted for use on the tees and approaches, improving their quality as well.
– Badger Damage: Greenkeepers are actively repairing badger damage on the tees as soon as it is identified.
Safety Reminder
The course is holding up well despite the unprecedented dry and hot conditions. Please refrain from smoking anywhere on the course, as the ground is currently highly susceptible to fire.
A brief update on the completed tree work will be shared the week beginning August 24th, and the next full Course Update will be sent during the week beginning August 21st.
