Hagley GC Member’s Only Short Game Area

After considering the frequent requests in GC Member’s Survey and thanks to a partnership agreement between the owners of Hagley GC and the GC Committees we are delighted to announce the development of a short game area exclusively for the use of Hagley GC members. The area is to be built utilising the soil currently fenced off at the rear of the 9th green. The scale drawing below uses the 1st tee’s square metre area as a point of reference as the pitching green will match this in size. There will be either one bunker equivalent to those beside the 9th green or two slightly smaller bunkers. This will be decided in the design phase with the external contractors John Greasley Golf Construction. See the link to for some of the projects they have delivered across the UK John Greasley Ltd

The plan includes changing the way the putting green is used so that the far end, closest to the new pitching green, will become a small chipping area. Whilst the majority of the putting green closest to the conifers will remain as it is.

The purpose of the project is to provide exclusive access to members to putting, chipping, bunker and pitching practice opportunities.

This will mean the back of the 9th will become an Out of Bounds and a new drop zone will be also be created for shots that finish on the practice putting green.

The project is due to begin in June and will take 3 to 4 weeks to complete. The pitching green, bunker(s) and surrounds will take a few months to bed in and will be ready for use early next year, weather permitting.

We’ll provide regular updates on design and construction as the project progresses.
