Hand Mowers Ready To Go
An important part of the investments in machinery at the start of this season was the addition of hand mowers for the Greenkeeping team to use on greens, aprons and tees. After some initial training for staff without experience of this type of mower earlier in the week the hand mowers will now be part of the golf course winter maintenance program.
There are many advantages in using hand mowers. The primary benefit for the course in winter months will be that the relatively heavy ride on mowing machines will be used less often. The hope is that this will mean areas around greens, aprons and tees that may have been marked by heavy machinery in wet conditions will stay in better condition all year round. Hand mowing will take the Greenkeeping team a little longer than ride on mowing. As ever your patience will be appreciated whilst they are at work around the course.
