Staff & Course Update
As well as investment in the golf course we at Hagley GC recognise the value of our staff. The importance of providing relevant training so they can develop their skills and experiences whilst working here is a key part of our commitment to them and ensuring we have staff able to deliver the level of service and work we require in all areas of the business. Pictured in the gallery below are:
From the greenkeeping team
James Redrup who has just completed his Level 2, Sports Turf Management (Golf), qualification with a Merit award
Tom Lennon who has just begun his Level 2, Sports Turf Management (Golf), qualification
It will be great if you can take the time to encourage them both if you see them on the course over the next few weeks.

From the Pro Shop team
Dan Wakeman and Ellie Perks have successfully completed the first year of their PGA training and are well into their second year’s work
Tom Wakeman has recently begun his first year of PGA training and also the well respected Diamond Golf custom fitting course
Dan and Ellie are both focused on coaching and Tom will be available for custom fittings. Please stop and have a chat with them about their progress and how they might be able to help your game when you see them next.

Bunker renovations continue on 3rd hole
As conditions allowed the team to move from the 2nd bunker to the 3rd they took the opportunity to begin the reshaping of the left hand side bunker in front of the 3rd green. As you can see the bunker’s drainage was exposed and made good prior to the reshaping. The reshaping will include reducing the size of the bunker on the far left and shallowing the bank at the back of the bunker. The face on the front right of the bunker will be made a little steeper so sand is retained in this area and the bunker collects more balls that land in this area.

Path work continues on the back 9
As the hardcore and sand has settled in on the area laid a few weeks ago the team have moved to lay the astro onto this area. The material being used is that which was positioned in few months ago, rathe than the new material described in recent updates and used on the path by the 16th tee. The path will serve as a route to the new winter tee on the 13th once this is in play in the next few weeks.

Greens maintenance including aeration, application of additives and mole ploughing are all helping to keep these most important of the playing surfaces in exceptionally good condition for the time of year. As ever it would be really appreciated if all golfers can please take care of the greens by repairing pitch marks even if they aren’t your own.
