Seniors’ Captain

Welcome to our Seniors golf section

Seniors’ Captain Foreword

It was with some surprise that I found myself being asked to take on the role of Seniors’ Captain for 2026 having previously held the position in 2018. Perhaps I got a few things right back then!

It is an honour and a privilege to be entrusted with such a prestigious role within Hagley Golf Club, but one that can only be done justice with the support, hard work, time and effort put into their roles by your Seniors’ Committee.
Without these members we would not be able to offer the wide range of golfing and social events on offer each year. We are constantly looking for ways to improve your experience as a member of Hagley Golf Club and the Seniors’ Section, so please show your appreciation with a kind word and do not be afraid to offer any suggestions you feel could enhance our member’s experience.

During my tenure as your Seniors’ Captain this year, I hope to continue to build, develop and maintain, with your help and support, the high levels of integrity and success of the Section which has been built on the hard work of previous Seniors’ Captains and Committee members and, hopefully, continue to build positive working relationships within all sections of The Club.

Hagley Golf Club already has an excellent reputation within the area as having a warm and friendly membership who welcome all golfers, and non-golfers, of any age and ability to the club to use our fantastic course and facilities. I hope to continue to promote this throughout the year at our Seniors’ Team Matches and Opens.
This year’s Club Charity is the Brierley Hill Baby Bank. This is a local charity that relies solely on volunteers and donations from the public to run successfully. It is a needy cause which sets out to support families (with babies under 2) who have fallen on hard times. With your support we hope to achieve the raising of another amazing amount for this year’s Club Charity.

May I finally wish all members of Hagley Golf Club a happy, healthy and successful year. I am looking forward to representing you both within The Club and on my travels to other Clubs and meeting as many of our new and old members as I can, so, please come and say hello and have a chat.

With kindest regards.
